Bulletin: Downtime 3
[OC Summary of Events]
[CW: Burning alive]
- Raindrops From The North, Strangeness-in-the-air, and The Saint undertook a reconaissance expedition to observe the horde. Some straggling zombies were shot.
- The Relic Seeker and Loosha Phanes successfully set up an electric fence, deterring a bunch of the horde. The Bastion smells of the acrid fumes of burnt flesh.
- I and Juno rigged up explosive traps inside the perimeter to catch any stragglers.
- Nio filled the hole in the fence at long last.
- Devo Ulric has cleaned the Substation of remains.
- Dr. Chambers undertook to delegate additional labour where it was most needed, organising resources and labour.
- A smattering of spontaneously dug holes have appeared about the Bastion, as though the digger kept trying in vain to inspire others to dig too.
- The Bastion's electricity generator is over-burdened with all the new inventions.
Only one of the following can be adequately powered at once:- the long-distance radio communications, which is rigged up to a defunct electricity pylon (the Substation does not work as an actual Substation because the parent nuclear plant does not work)
- the electric fence
- the power supply inside the substation (lights, heating etc.).
- Power is currently being supplied to the fence

I am grateful to the efforts of all those who saw fit to lend a hand that it is not more. Please inform me of any necessary amendments.
A Notice - The Relic Seeker
Dear Bastion, the comms tower is working fine. The Relic Seeker is injured, yes, but it is upon its carelessness. Feel free to contact the Sanctuary anytime. Their correspondent is Zephyr.
DO NOT TOUCH THE FENCE. Lest one wishes to be cooked alive.
A Notice
A strange, rusted mechanical cat arrives to the Bastion one day with an orange canister around its neck. The canister contains the following note:
Members of the place you call the Bastion,
Have you gazed into the eyes of the ground that opens before you? Have you faced the past of the earth and its once-closed skin?
I know the past from which your home has come. I have seen the legions of calloused hands that caressed its stone walls into the shape of hope. I have seen the sweat on the muscled backs of those that communed with this “Bastion” long before it was a place of need.
I have seen the aching arms of your near-ancestors linked in community.
Believe in the time beyond yourselves. It is the only way you may find safety.
[OC note: As a reminder, Della Faye is contactable via text on an old mobile phone, currently accessible in the substation. The cat can also be interacted with using the same email address.]
