- High Preacher Donovan
Example 1: John the Bastion Hater's Turnsheet (Subversive Zombie Scheming)
Main Action
What will your character primarily be focusing on this Downtime?
The Bastion. 'The last home of civilisation'. Well, John hates it. John believes that a postapocalyptic anarchy is the truest form of life. So, John will try to sneak a live zombie into the Bastion.
Aim
What is your character hoping to achieve?
John is hoping to weaken the Bastion both psychologically and physically by sneaking in a zombie, hoping it will bite people, cause havoc and put the security of the Bastion into question.
Methodology
How is your character planning to achieve this goal? What sort of method will they be applying?
John believes that destruction is the way of life. The prey eats the plant, the predator eats the prey. Everywhere you look is destruction. John lives for it. John will try to achieve this goal by causing as much destruction as possible as he tries to get the zombie inside. Some of this may be explicit, some of it may be subtle, some of it might not even be visible. But it is there.
Description
What are the steps that your character will be taking to achieve their goal?
- John will first have to capture a zombie. He will do this by using some blood from the Bastion medical centre to lure one into a trap of his design.
- Upon luring it into the trap, he will attempt to disguise it as a cargo container with expedition loot inside of it.
- He will then sneak it in through a segment of the wall that he has been chipping away at slowly for the past four turns, weakened enough that a sledgehammer hit could break it from the outside.
- If confronted by Guard Peter, he will remind him of the death of his family to get an opening to subdue him, taking advantage of his survivor's guilt.
- Once inside, he will let the zombie loose to cause havoc while running to the safety of his locked room.
How is this contributing to the Bastion?
All Bastion members ought to constantly work to maintain and improve the encampment. How does your character's action contribute – or how might they claim it does?
To John, this is helping the people of the Bastion realise the truest form of life there is: the life of post-apocalyptic anarchy, where the strongest survive. What greater purpose could there be?
Relevant Quirks/Items
Please list any Quirks or items relevant to your character's action.
Trapper's Kit: Having brought the Trapper's Kit developed during long expeditions into the wilderness, John can trap just about anything… even a zombie.
Something to Hide (+): Not many people know of John's true beliefs, which he uses to enact his plan without suspicion.
Secret Saboteur (-): There's someone out there who knows John is up to something. He suspects it's Saratov, but he has no proof. Either way, if Saratov catches wind, the plan may as well be dead.

- Send a dead rat to Peter. Just to torment him more.
- Hate the Bastion and what it stands for. It's good to keep the flames stoked.

My guy HATIN.
Example 2: Angela the Believer's Turnsheet (Turning To Faith For Help)
Main Action
What will your character primarily be focusing on this Downtime?
She wants to see if any zombie corpse is in The Bastion and, if so, examine it (maybe the body reacts with her Bulwark amulet?); if this doesn't work, Angela is going to hunt down a zombie – hoping for a reward from the High Priestess.
Aim
What is your character hoping to achieve?
To find out more about the zombies, hopefully receiving information from the High Priestess.
Methodology
How is your character planning to achieve this goal? What sort of method will they be applying?
Angela will be doing things the only way she knows; using the principles taught to her by the High Preachers…or I guess the new High Preachers. She hasn't managed to find the new leaders yet–but the tenets have always served her well. The High Priestess has protected her thus far.
Description
What are the steps that your character will be taking to achieve their goal?
- Search the medical facility and quarantine rooms to see if I can find mutated human tissue. I'm not expecting this to be successful, but I might as well try.
- If I do manage to find tissue, see if it reacts with my religious amulet or prayers. Zombies are supposedly a punishment for non-believers, so I'll also search the body for any Bulwark memorabilia.
- If that plan doesn't work, exit the Bastion to find a zombie. The guards may stop me, but if that's the case, I'll arm myself with a gun and ask someone to come with me. Worst-case scenario, I sneak out during the night.
- Once I strike down a zombie, do the examinations. I may even be rewarded for protecting the Bastion. I hope She lends me her protection.
- If I am bitten. I don't know what I'll do.
- Would She forsake me like that?
- Surely not.

I think I've set up some good actions for her to start doubting her faith (or maybe reinforce it, you decide) – she's definitely out of her depth, but maybe she'll scrape by again somehow. I guess she has to – she needs to contribute to the Bastion one way or another.
